a rose by any other name.

i love keeping a mini tube of hand cream in my purse. It makes me feel so girly. and i love when a cutie goes to hold my hand after a dinner date and can’t help but rave about how soft my hands are. kinda gives me tiffany syndrome (see below). so my secret to princess hands is a good scrub like deborah lippmann helping hand, a good cream, and clean neatly filed nails. maybe even polish! everyone knows i am a clear polish kinda girl.

i have four hand creams that i cannot live without and jurlique’s rose hand cream is one of them. formulated with rose oil, almond oil, and vitamin e this cream really works at softening your skin by sealing in the moisture. not only that but it smells like an old rose garden. and a little goes a long way, both in fragrance and effectiveness.

the remaining picks in my foursome:

1. caudalie hand and nail cream
2. l’occitane shea butter hand cream
3. deborah lippmann rich girl – bonus: SPF 25

i wanna hold your hand.

it’s no secret that your hands and will give away your age. i preach this regularly. so we moisturize and moisturize and moisturize some more. we wear gloves to do the dishes (wait, who does dishes anymore??) and we polish our nails and hope that our hands will not give away our true age.

but sometimes creams don’t cut it. you’ve got to give that cream a chance to really get absorbed. Enter deborah lippmann helping hand. this warming scrub is worked into damp hands for a deep treatment that leaves you with baby soft hands. the mandarin oil in this scrub refines the texture of your skin (bye bye wrinkles!) and encourages the growth of healthy new skin cells. plus it’s antiseptic which is great because our hands come into contact with so many things all day every day. and we can now fake tiffany syndrome. what’s that you ask? it’s when someone makes you feel like a princess and you start believing that you are. so much so that you know your hands are only meant for one thing – tiffany’s.

be sure to use this at night or follow with SPF during the day because the citrus-based oils can leave your skin highly photosensitive.

go ahead, give yourself a hand.

wink wink.

if you understand the need for multiple mascaras you probably know there is a difference between daytime mascara for a natural look and daytime mascara for a dramatic look. there is also evening mascara for a dramatic look. there is no such thing as evening mascara for a natural look. i’ve never been much of a fan of the extremely natural look but i know i can’t always break out my diorshow for the daytime. it can be a bit overpowering. i'm not complaining - i'm just syaing.  but bare escentuals buxom lash delivers enough oomph for daytime without being over the top. plus it stays with you through the workday and even into happy hour. apply lots of thin coats for long dark lashes that are office glam.  want something other than black? grab blue noir – a dark blue black that has a subtle hint of navy.

be sure to focus on outer lashes for extra fringe and make sure to pre-line your peepers with buxom's lash liner. i swear by it. it comes in a handful of colors but i don't stray away from leatherette.

enjoy being beautiful :)

oh those eyes!

i am always looking for products that are travel friendly. if you've seen my twitter feed you probably know that i am constantly at the airport. so with all my work related travel i can’t tell you how many precious products i've lost to spills, leaks, and tsa. at .34 fl oz first aid beauty’s detox eye roller is the perfect travel companion for puffy eyes and dark circles. and it's only $24! what? insanity. the cool metal roller ball gently breaks up lymphatic build-up under your eyes while soothing with witch hazel and brightening the area with caffeine. as if that wasn’t enough to sell you on this product, it also comes packed with advanced peptides for collagen production and sodium hyaluronate to maintain your skin’s young wrinkle-free appearance.

here's a tip: shake well before use and roll from inner to outer corners of your under eye area 2 to 3 times and twice daily. you won’t need eye cream but if you want to use it apply it after this has a chance to absorb fully! need an extra kick? store it in the refrigerator!

i've been using this for quite some time and i definitely like to think of it as the modern day cucumber slice remedy. plus you can throw it your purse for a touch up during the day!
